Psalms 97

The Lord’s Power and Dominion.

1 aThe Lord
Or has assumed Kingship
reigns, let the cearth rejoice;
Let the many
Or coastlands
,
eislands be glad.
2 fClouds and thick darkness surround Him;
gRighteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.
3 hFire goes before Him
And iburns up His adversaries round about.
4His jlightnings lit up the world;
The earth saw and ktrembled.
5The mountains lmelted like wax at the presence of the Lord,
At the presence of the mLord of the whole earth.
6The nheavens declare His righteousness,
And oall the peoples have seen His glory.

7Let all those be ashamed who serve pgraven images,
Who boast themselves of qidols;
Or All the gods have worshiped Him
,
sWorship Him, all you
Or supernatural powers
gods.
8Zion
Or possibly hears and is glad
heard this and vwas glad,
And the daughters of Judah have rejoiced
Because of Your judgments, O Lord.
9For You are the Lord wMost High over all the earth;
You are exalted far xabove all
Or supernatural powers
gods.

10 zHate evil, you who love the Lord,
Who aapreserves the souls of His godly ones;
He abdelivers them from the hand of the wicked.
11 acLight is sown like seed for the righteous
And adgladness for the upright in heart.
12Be aeglad in the Lord, you righteous ones,
And afgive thanks
Lit for the memory of His holiness
to His holy name.
